INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the enchanting winter wonderland of Vancouver, where the spirit of Christmas comes alive with a plethora of festive events and activities in 2025!
As the city gears up for the most magical time of the year, both Vancouverites and those just visiting Vancouver for Christmas can look forward to a spectacular lineup of events that promise to light up the cityscape and warm hearts.
Whether you’re eager to glide gracefully on the city’s iconic outdoor ice rinks, savor delicious seasonal delicacies at the Vancouver Christmas Market, or be serenaded by carolers in the snow-kissed streets, this year’s Vancouver Christmas events promise unforgettable moments and cherished memories.
So, bundle up, grab a cup of hot cocoa, and explore this Christmas Vancouver events guide for 2025. Let the holiday festivities begin!
IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR 2025
I’m very sorry to report that Bright Nights ( the largest fundraiser for the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund) and the Stanley Park Christmas Train will not be happening in Vancouver in 2025. The Vancouver Park Board has paused this beloved tradition while they are “exploring new operating models and partnerships for the attraction, with a call for expressions of interest planned for later this year.”

And what’s taking its place in Stanley Park? Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience—with tickets priced around $300 for a family of four, or about $500 for the deluxe option (compared to roughly $60 for the train). Hmmm… what could possibly be going on here?
Thankfully, Bright Nights has found a new home at Noel Surrey, taking place at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds (45 min. drive from Vancouver). Visitors can stroll through the Bright Nights light walk, take photos with Santa and holiday characters in the Noel Village, browse the Christmas Market, and enjoy free rides. The fully licensed festival also features two bars, cozy dining huts, food trucks, and fire pits.
Fear not—there are still plenty of festive things to do in Vancouver during the holiday season. Here are the best-of-the-best!
THE 16 BEST VANCOUVER CHRISTMAS EVENTS 2025
1. THE VANCOUVER CHRISTMAS MARKET
When it comes to Vancouver Christmas markets, this one stands out as the city’s most popular—and for good reason. It’s not only a beloved local tradition but also one of Vancouver’s must-do holiday experiences.

In its 15th season, this festive market offers something for all ages, from live music and a charming carousel to delicious food and drink (don’t miss the collector’s Christmas mug!). You’ll also find roaming gingerbread mascots and a 30-foot twinkling Christmas tree—perfect for holiday selfies. With more than 80 artisan huts, it’s easy to find a thoughtful gift or keepsake to take home.
For 2025, the Vancouver Christmas Market is introducing several fun new experiences, including Breakfast with Santa (December 6 – book early – this will sell out), daily snow showers, creative crafting workshops like painting and crocheting, a new “Santa’s Workshop” activity, and even a festive new feature drink—the hot Aperol Spritz.
In an increasingly expensive world, I also appreciate what the market has done with its time-based ticket pricing this year. While admission costs a little more at peak times ($21.99), you can visit for as little as $6.99 if you go earlier in the day.
